Star Trek Day 2022 – Red Carpet Event

Jim and I were at a red carpet event! We were invited guests in Los Angeles for the filming of Paramount Plus’ Star Trek Day event and somehow ended up in the second row from the stage. We were in no way prepared to be treated like those at a Hollywood event! Free beverages, food, activities and even a swag bag! Then the event itself, filled with Star Trek stars giving us teasers for what’s to come this season, was loads of fun!

There were stars from every actively filming series right now and they gave us some teasers as to what to expect for the upcoming season.

Oh, and I dressed in full Klingon attire, which was a hit!

Those lollipop looking things were dipped in dry ice and made smoke come from your mouth!

One of the cosplayers specifically invited ahead of time to be in the on-stage costume parade because of their notoriety in the cosplay community. There were some amazing costumes!

There were activities to do before the main stage was opened. The guy with the yellow hair is applying 7 of 9 makeup to a guest.

There were plenty of guests who also came in costume.

My ticket! I covered the row and seat because I posted the photo online before the event. Safety first? I dunno.

Star Trek royalty, Bjo Trimble stopped me to tell me a story about Gene Roddenberry and a faux pas he had with the actresses playing the Duras sisters. Apparently he started poking their breasts because he thought they were prosthetic costuming and turned beet red when he realized they were real!

For those who don’t know, Bjo is the woman who was instrumental in the Save Star Trek campaign that brought the original series back for a 3rd season.  She’s much more than that, though. Check out the link above to read about this amazing woman.

Me and Bjo!

Jim, who hates waiting for anything, before the show began.

I have to be honest, I’m not up on all the new shows, so I don’t know who a lot of these actors are. Jim and I have just started watching Strange New Worlds, which is really good and very much like the spirit of the original series. Not as dark as some of these new shows. So forgive me for not naming everyone!

Patrick Stewart! I fangirled a little when he came on stage.

Wil Wheaton!
