Lunar Eclipse – Projection Viewing

Since I don’t have a solar filter, nor solar viewing glasses, I opted for the projection method.

I set my equipment, then took a quick photo of the projected sun on the paper, and then covered the lens in my setup so that it wouldn’t overheat. You can see the duct tape on the lens so that all I had to do was flip it up or down.

While I was doing this, my mailman stopped to see what I was doing and stayed several minutes. A couple of my neighbors also came to watch. In the bottom right image, you can see the tiny sun being projected in the middle onto the paper.
